Owner / Coach Amanda Lerner
Certifications: CrossFit Level 1 American Council on Exercise Personal Trainer Years CrossFitting: 5 What do you specialize in?: I specialize in being the person most women can relate to. I was never an athlete. I was overweight for half of my life and didn't really have much of a solid direction as far as health and wellness was concerned. I met Adam who believed in me more than I did myself and he led me to my best self health wise. I then had two babies which sent all that knowledge of health and well-being out the window. I got back on the horse at 35 years of age and never looked back. So I guess my specialty is I have "been there and done that" when it comes to fitness. I've been the chubby friend, the girl who finally learned how to get fit, the post-par tum momma who never thought she would find time to exercise, and now in the over 40 best shape of her life club. I am here to prove that you are never too old, overweight, tired or scared to have a healthy lifestyle. What are you passionate about?: My greatest passion is providing a beautiful life for my husband and two boys. The opportunity of having this business has afforded us the added benefit of having our family be involved in every aspect of our lives. It gives our sons an amazing education for not only taking care of their health but for experiencing the ins and outs of owning a business. What do you love most about coaching your members?: I LOVE when members tell me we have changed their lives. When someone comes to me and tells me I am the best part of their day, it means everything! I get all warm inside when a member accomplishes something they vowed they never would. All of these moments are the golden. What is your athletic background? Any notable accomplishments?: I am a proud member of the Franklin High School Knightettes circa 1990-1994. We were a cross between the NYC Rockettes and a bomb hip hop crew. My one and only claim to athletic excellence. How did you end up as a CrossFit coach? What path brought you here?: I had just had my second child and was itching to do SOMETHING. Adam and I were living in Austin, TX and were driving down Burnet Road when my eyes caught sight of three 3 super ripped women doing crazy movements on a pull-up bar. They were dirty, sweaty and incredibly sexy and I knew at that moment I wanted to try whatever it was those chicks were doing. I started my first class at CrossFit Central the next week and was hooked ever since. What do you do when you’re not CrossFitting? Anything and everything in the great outdoors. Hike, bike, swim, box and stairs (lots of stairs). All other hours are spent with my kiddos and my man! What's your favorite quote?: To be nobody but yourself in a world which is doing its best, day and night, to make you everybody else means to fight the hardest battle which any human being can fight, and never stop fighting - ee cummings Is there anything else you want people to know about you? Funny, interesting stories you’d like to tell?My dream was to be a back-up dancer for Janet Jackson. She's going back on tour so you never KNOW?????!!!!
