Adam Lerner has been my personal fitness trainer since March of 2007. I hired Adam because I was 15 pounds over-weight, I had high cholesterol and high triclycerides. Two years later after consistently having Adam as my trainer, training me 2-3 times per week, not only have I lost over 15 pounds, but my cholesterol and triglyceride levels came way down to well within the healthy ranges. Adam has designed many programs which have helped me progress through balancing, strength and power skills. When I first started working out with Adam I could only do a couple regular push-ups on my own, less than a year later, I won the ladies push up contest at our gym performing over 50 regular push-ups without stopping. Adam not only designs and conducts fun and effective workout programs, but he is also very knowledgeable with nutrition and has helped me workout several meal plans. Adam has done such a great job motivating me to get in great shape that he actually inspired me to become a personal fitness training professional so that I too can have the opportunity to do for others, what he has done for me.       "How much weight have you lost?" is the question asked of me lately. The truth is only about 10 pounds over the course of a year. That may sound miniscule in comparison to the 100's of pounds being lost on TV and other weight loss challenges across the nation. That seems to be the main focus of our society today...weight loss. That is fantastic if you are overweight and need a drastic change. What if you are like me...mid 40's and just enough overweight where clothes do not fit like they used to, "dieting" does not seem to work as well, and, well, let's face it, just plain out of shape. Applying my old exercise techniques no longer worked, so I turned to Adam Lerner. 
    Over the last year, I have worked with Adam and he did more than "train" me. He taught me how to lift weights correctly, yes, but he educated me for a lifetime of well being. I learned how to eat more efficiently to burn calories and increase my slowing metabolism through food not diet pills. I learned how to exercise more effectively to burn total body fat, make lean muscle, and change what I wrongly believed about how a woman should work out. 
    Adam used personal attention and positive motivation and the right tools enabling me to achieve my goal.....

    I have been training with Adam Lerner since August 2008. My goal, at age 42, was to finally get into shape after years of relative inactivity. I have never been overweight, and my cholesterol and triglycerides have been in healthy ranges for years but I have been "out of shape" for a long time. My blood pressure has been borderline "high" for over 5 years. I went through multiple kidney stone procedures which caused me to lose weight just prior to beginning my training. Before working out with Adam, I could barely run a mile and struggled to do multiple pull ups or push ups and certainly could not lift much weight. I regularly attend one of his three person group sessions twice a week and have made a lot of progress on strength, cardio capability and overall fitness/well being. Adam is very motivating and varies the workouts considerably so I never get bored. I rarely miss a session. A few months after I started training at the gym, I also began running and now regularly cover 6-7 miles at a time. Training in the gym helps me run, and running helps me be able to do more in the gym. I recently ran in the Capitol 10K and Texas Round Up 10K turning in times of just over 58 minutes in each race, a pretty good performance for someone who couldn't do a mile 6 months prior. I am very happy with the results I have acheived since starting my program with Adam. I am leaner, stronger, and have better posture and more energy than I have ever had. And to top it off, I saw a significant reduction in my diastolic blood pressure reading a few weeks ago. Thanks a lot.

 Isn't it funny how the things we did for fun as kids, jumping rope, skipping, running, are the things we make ourselves do for a workout as adults. I will be the first to admit that I am lazy by nature and up until 2 years ago I never had a desire or need or motivation to have a regular work-out regimen. Then my metabolism retired and my belly became buddah-ish and I realized I should start to sweat. Being completely ignorant about lifting and exercising in general, I hired a trainer to get me started. 
    Adam is fantastic! I hired him out of the gym I was using and over the course of a year and a half he toned meand got me on the right track nutritionally. He is very professional and knowledgeable about the proper way to lift and also the proper way to eat. He has an all around life change plan. He understands that it's not just about burning calories but that everything you put in your body affects not just your weight but also your mood and your overall health. I learned alot from him. 
    One of the most important things he taugth me was how to work out anywhere. No gym needed. I now have a little regimen I can do at work and also one I do when I take the dogs to the park. He rarely put me on any machines but is a big proponent in free weights, isometrics, and the dreaded plyometrics. And he always kept the workouts fresh, coming up with new torture for me every week. 
    But the best thing about him, ladies, is he is so soft-spoken and sweet and a very non-intimidating person. He was perfect for a workout virgin like myself. He is not a huge, muscle-bound meathead. He's very lean and toned himself which was a good example of what I wanted for myself. He truly loves what he does and lives what he preaches.
    Also, his biggest passion is boxing, so he can train you in that as well, boys and girls. I took a few lessons and had a great time hitting stuff (very therapeautic!) but was done with it when we started to spar and he hit back.
   Adam trains out of A4 Fitness in West LA but he can also train you out of his home gym or even at your own house. Many times he would show up at my door with some weights and a ball and he gave me a serious sweaty workout. I really got to know him and his wife and baby over the course of my training. Sometimes he would work out with me or his wife would and it was always very comfortable, casual, and even fun. He would have me and the wife high skipping and butt-kick running across the yard. Hilarious for the neighbors I'm sure. And in hindsight, for me too. Ahhh, to be a kid again and find all that fun!
    Sooo, if you are serious about your new years resolutions and want to make a very positive change in your life, call him up!
